Maidan Nezalezhnosti is the central square of Kiev. It is located at Khreshchatyk Street. The square has been known under many different names, but it became known simply as Maidan due to the Orange Revolution that took place there in 2004 . After political events in December, 2013, when people came to the square to support Ukraine’s integration to the European Union, it was called Euromaidan.
